At first glance, the 6 of Wands looks like a victory card, which is why it is often read as that. If we put it into the line-up of the rest of the Wand cards, however, we see a different story. We see that it comes right after the chaotic 5, which shows people in a state of confusion or combat, each trying to do their own thing. And right before the 7 of Wands, which shows a man holding his Wand at the ready because there are six others pointed at him. Then the 8 of Wands with the idea that movement in and of itself is not the answer. Followed by the 9 of Wands, showing someone temporarily standing, but it’s in a defensive stance. Lastly, the 10 of Wands which shows us someone who has their head down and is just white knuckling their task.
Are You Winning The Battle At The Cost Of The War
Are there ways you may be appearing to be in a position of strength, yet feeling burned out inside? Which part, of all the internal versions of yourself, are feeling victorious right now? How old does that part feel? If you imagined yourself into this card, what would you look like? Where in the card would you show up? What would I see? Which of the other parts of you are really struggling? Is the current victory showing up in your life who you are, or just in a very small picture? Are you winning the battle at the cost of the war?”
If it feels like this resonates with you, maybe this card is an indication that some self-compassion is in order. That you need to get better at self-care. That just because something is hard doesn’t mean it’s the right way to go. Are you showing up in your life or relationship in an authentic way, or just to get through the current moment? Make today count for the long game.
